Rund um den Mais-all about corn-tout sur le maïs !

Wie man an den beiden vorhergehenden Beiträgen feststellen kann, sind wir nun im Maisfieber. 500 t werden in den nächsten Wochen an Ernte erwartet und es ist nicht mehr lange hin bis zum Mais-Festival am 13.04.08 in Gravier. Ein guter Anlass auch einige Bewohner/innen der Insel vorzustellen. Anne Stacy und Briginette haben ja bereits den Anfang gemacht, der nächste Beitrag ist von Sheila, die uns zum Mais ihrer Kindertage entführt. In der neuen Diashow geht es natürlich ebenfalls um Mais und auch der Himmel über Rodrigues musste als Foto der Woche (bei uns dauert eine Woche manchmal einen Monat!) dem Mais weichen...

Aber keine Sorge, auch wenn sich jetzt alles um den Mais dreht, andere Themen wird es auch bald wieder geben, der Besuch der Chagossianer während der letzten Woche auf Rodrigues steht zumindest ganz oben auf der Liste!

As everybody can see, we are full in the corn fever. 500 t are expected during the next weeks and just a couple of days until the Festival of Mais will be celebrated in Gravier. A good occasion to present as well some of the islands' inhabitants. For starters we had already Anne Stacy and Briginette, the next one will be Sheila , taking us to the corn of her childhood. There might be an English translation later on, sorry- for the time being it's just French and German.
The new slide show is also about corn, and the 'Sky over Rodrigues' as photo of the week (here a week very often takes a month!) had to make space for corn too...

But don't you worry, there will be other issues soon, as for example the visit last week of the people from Chagos here on our island, which is on top of our list!
