Around Rodrigues Cup 2009- Briefing Of Participants...

Today at 6pm all participants of the Cup were briefed by Olivier (who you know already, the one who was not a pirate) and by Stephane from S/Y Mary-Ann, who you can see here...Charts, weather forecast and instructions were given to the 8 participating yachts, some of them met also their local "crews" for the first time. It was a nice gathering at La Residence, sure some rhum included...Here Yvonne from Germany who arrived this week with the English man Anthony on S/Y Grain de Sable...It turned out that Peter and Linda from S/Y Dutch Touch have already been in competition with S/Y Mary-Ann during the ARC in 2002 which started in the Canaries, Mary-Ann made it with one day in advance to Dutch Touch then, source for some joking...
And here is "my" skipper for the next days, Mr. Hideshige Seki from Japan of S/Y Polaire who has been sailing now already for 3 years single-handed...(I hope he can adjust to having 2 left hands more on board...)More about him, his boat and his voyage you can hopefully read next week, I have to go to bed now and my bag has still to be packed, with all the rain at the moment I am a bit clueless about what to let at home...:))

You will find more about the regatta and all participants after the event, just here the names of the other boats: S/Y Hirondelle (F), S/Y Mllenium (AUS), S/Y Tantrum (AUS) and S/Y Double Dutch from South Africa...
