Maurice Sendak....With the wild things now

Maurice Sendak ist tot. Er starb gestern im Alter von 83 Jahren. Ich will mir vorstellen, dass er, der von der New York Times einmal "der Picasso der Kinder" genannt wurde, nun auf dem Weg zu den wilden Kerlen ist, wo er hoffentlich auch seine Hündin Jennie und seinen Lebensgefährten Eugene Glynn trifft, der ihm 2007 im Mai vorausging und mit dem er ein halbes Jahrhundert teilte.Ich wünsche ihm auf seiner letzten Reise alles erdenklich Gute, ihm, der uns auf so viele Reisen mitgenommen hat.-

Maurice Sendak died yesterday at the age of 83. He has inspired generations of kids and adults likewise with his books full of imagination.The "Picasso of kids" as the New York Times once called him might now be on his way to where the wild things are, hopefully meeting Jennie his dog and his long-time companion with whom he shared his life for half a century and who proceeded him 2007 in May.

Jennie is a Sealyham terrier. She has everything a dog could possibly want, but she thinks 'there must be more to life' and sets off on an adventure.

Ein Schwein gibt sich selbst eine Geburtstagsparty zum 9.Geburtstag als es feststellt, dass es in seinem bisherigen Leben keine einzige gegeben hat, aber alles verläuft etwas anders, als wie man erwartet...-

"Bumble-Ardy is a pig, raised by an aunt, who is built like a house and who lives in a house that looks like a ruin. This aunt is doing her best with poor Bumble, a child who was orphaned when his parents “gorged and gained weight. / And got ate.” That tragic turn of events may have been for the best, as Bumble’s lousy parents never once got around to throwing the boy a birthday party (his birthday is June 10, the same as Sendak’s). So, on his ninth birthday, Bumble secretly invites over terrifying hordes of local swine, who arrive in disguise for a bacchanalia of “birthday cake and brine.” The party ends in hoggish chaos, in tears and threats of slaughter—and, finally, with a measure of forgiveness."
