Meist sehen wir die Allamanda in gelb, denn auch in Rodrigues ist Allamanda cathartica aufgrund ihres üppigen Wachstums und Aussehens ein häufig anzutreffender Zierstrauch. Als ich im Januar zum ersten Mal diese in violett blühende Variante bewusst wahrnahm, war ich ganz überrascht, denn dies hier war schon mehr ein kleiner Baum als ein Strauch und erinnerte nur entfernt an seine gelben Vertreter.-
We usually
see Allamanda in yellow, the golden trumpet, because as in many other places Allamanda cathartica is due to
its lush growth
and appearance one frequently encountered ornamental shrub also in Rodrigues. When
in January I perceived consciously for
the first time this variant flowering in purple, I was quite surprised because
this was already more a small tree than a shrub, only a remote reminiscent of its yellow counterpart. I just liked it!
