Ich werde wirklich alt, ich sehe es daran, wieviele Menschen, die in meiner Kindheit und Jugend eine Bedeutung hatten, so nach und nach ihre letzte Reise antreten. Erst im September verstarb Mikis Theodorikis, den ich mal live in Essen auf einem Konzert erleben durfte, heute erfuhr ich, dass schon vor zwei Tagen Barry Ryan im Alter von 72 Jahren gestorben ist.Nur einen Tag früher ist Lin gestorben, mit 43 viel zu früh, und der für viele Mauritier und Rodriguer mit seinen Liedern eine ähnliche Bedeutung hat wie für mich Barry Ryan mit "Eloise" und etwas später mit "Die Zeit macht nur vor dem Teufel halt", das ich irgendwie wirklich mochte, noch immer kann ich Textteile auswendig, es gehört neben Starman von Bowie, American Pie von Don MacLean und Abendstille überall mit zum abendlichen Gesangsrepertoire, wenn ich unsere Hündin Miss Molly ausführe...

Mikis Theodorikis, que j'ai pu voir en direct lors d'un concert à Essen, est décédé en septembre. Aujourd'hui, j'apprends que Barry Ryan est décédé il y a deux jours à l'âge de 72 ans. Lin est décédé juste un jour plus tôt, à 43 ans trop tôt, et qui a une signification similaire pour de nombreux Mauriciens et Rodriguais avec ses chansons comme pour moi Barry Ryan avec "Eloise" et un peu plus tard avec "Die Zeit macht nur vor dem Teufel halt" (Le temps ne s'arrête qu'au diable), ce que j'ai beaucoup aimé, je peux toujours Texte parties du stand par coeur, ça fait partie du répertoire vocal en plus de Starman de Bowie, American Pie de Don MacLean et Abendstille überall quand je promène notre chienne Miss Molly le soir...

Viel weiß ich nicht über Barry Ryan, nur dass er zu Beginn seiner Karriere mit seinem Zwillingsbruder auftrat.Während Barry Ryan gut damit klar kam im Rampenlicht zu stehen, ging es seinem Bruder damit schlecht, er zog sich bereits 1968 aus dem Showgeschäft zurück, komponierte jedoch weiterhin für seinen Bruder. Auch Barry Ryans Mega Hit Eloise stammte aus der Feder seines Bruders. Paul Ryan starb übrigens bereits 44jährig an Lungenkrebs.

Barry Ryan hat sich in den 70er Jahren ebenfalls aus der Musikbranche zurückgezogen. Ab den späten 1970er Jahren arbeitete er erfolgreich als Modefotograf, seine Fotografien erschienen in Zeitschriften wie Ritz und Zoom. In den 1990er Jahren arbeitete er an einem Fotoprojekt zum Gedenken an seinen 1992 verstorbenen Bruder Paul.

I don't know much about Barry Ryan, only that early in his career he performed with his twin brother. While Barry Ryan got along well with being in the limelight, his brother got off with it, retiring from show business in 1968 after nervous breakdowns, composing however still for his brother. Barry Ryan's mega hit Eloise also came from his brother's pen. Paul Ryan died of lung cancer at the age of 44.

Barry Ryan retired from the music industry in the 1970s, and maintained a successful career as a fashion photographer from the late 1970s, his photographs have appeared in magazines such as Ritz and Zoom. In the 1990s he worked on a photo project in memory of his brother Paul, who died in 1992.-

Je ne sais pas grand-chose sur Barry Ryan, seulement qu'au début de sa carrière, il a joué avec son frère jumeau. Alors que Barry Ryan s'entendait bien avec le fait d'être sous les feux de la rampe, son frère s'en est tiré, prenant sa retraite du show business en 1968, composant cependant toujours pour son frère. Le méga hit de Barry Ryan, Eloise, est également venu de la plume de son frère. Incidemment, Paul Ryan est décédé d'un cancer du poumon à l'âge de 44 ans.

"1931 in Leeds geboren, wurde Marion Ryan, der singende Star der 1950er und 1960er Jahre, einst als Großbritanniens Antwort auf Marilyn Monroe beschrieben. Sie war die Quintessenz der blonden Bombe mit einer passenden Stimme." Ihr Song "Love me forever" war 1958 ein Hit.

Was das Privatleben betrifft, findet man nicht viel zu Barry Ryan, mit bürgerlichem Namen Sapherson nach seinem Vater, und irgendwie ist das wohl auch gut so. Es gab eine Ehe mit einer Prinzessin aus Malysia, die nach 4 Ehejahren 1980 wieder geschieden wurde. Und ob er dann wirklich nochmal geheiratet hat, entzieht sich meiner Kenntnis, es gibt Artikel, die eine weitere Ehe sowie zwei Kinder erwähnen. Befreundet war er mit Cat Stevens.-

En ce qui concerne sa vie personnelle, il n'y a pas grand-chose à trouver sur Barry Ryan, dont le vrai nom est Sapherson d'après son père, et c'est en quelque sorte une bonne chose. Il y a eu un mariage avec une princesse de Malaisie qui a divorcé après 4 ans de mariage en 1980. Et je ne sais pas s'il s'est réellement remarié, il y a des articles qui mentionnent un autre mariage et deux enfants.il était ami avec Cat Stevens.

Barry Ryan war sehr populär in Deutschland und ich erinnere mich, dass es damals eine dramatische Geschichte über einen Brand bei irgendwelchen Bravo-Fotoshootings oder Musikaufnahmen gab. Man konnte über Tage Barry Ryan leicht mumifiziert in Zeitungen sehen, heute gehen viele davon aus, dass es sich um einen Pressestunt gehandelt haben könnte, der es Barry Ryan ermöglichte, sich ebenfalls aus der Showbranche zurückzuziehen. (see too here), dagegen spricht, dass er 1972 noch mit Die Zeit macht nur vor dem Teufel halt einen weiteren Hit landen konnte, ganz unvernarbt...-

Barry Ryan was very popular in Germany and I remember there was a dramatic story about a fire on some Bravo photo shootings or studio recordings going wrong at the time. One could see Barry Ryan slightly mummified in newspapers for days, today many assume that it could have been a press stunt that enabled Barry Ryan to also withdraw from the show industry. (see too here) What speaks against this theory is the fact that in 1972 he was able to land another hit with Die Zeit macht nur vor dem Teufel halt, without any visible traces of scars ...-

Barry Ryan était très populaire en Allemagne et je me souviens qu'il y avait à l'époque une histoire dramatique à propos d'un incendie arrivé pendant dans un shooting de photo ou un enregistrement musical de Bravo. On pouvait voir Barry Ryan légèrement momifié dans les journaux pendant des jours, aujourd'hui beaucoup supposent que cela aurait pu être un coup de presse qui a permis à Barry Ryan de se retirer également de l'industrie du spectacle.
