First sun flower in our Care-Co garden
This birthday will be a bit different from the others, as we are living in different times now. When we look back to last year's birthday, no one expected something like Corona to happen. Although we have been lucky in Rodrigues without any registered cases, we have been suffering quite a lot by the economic and practical consequences of the international border closure which is still on...
So no travelling for Paul this year, the suitcases will stay empty in the store.Hopefully next year will be different, but who are we to know...?
Friends of Paul from England wanted to come but couldn't...No International Honey Show to go this year neither. And as to Care-Co we are just struggling hard to survive this crisis with nearly no customers buying our products. So, this birthday will also have a more modest note in terms of cakes and photo prints which have been a tradition for quite some years now.
However well wishing is on, see yourself...!
Donald at the entry gate of Care-Co...
" Bonne anniversaire et une longue vie!"
"Très bonne anniversaire. Bonne santé. Bonne continuation. Soyez beni pour les prochaines années!"
Isonette, unfortunately without the beautiful hibiscus which was just flowering too high up, I had to crop it to see more of her...
"Bonne anniversaire!"
"Bonne anniversaire!"
James. I kept him small as the palm tree in our garden looks beautiful these days.
"Meilleurs voeux, longue vie et bonne santé!"
"Bonne anniversaire! Que Dieu vous aide encore!"
Eric, our head beekeeper at Care-Co.
We owe it to Michael Duggan, a retired beekeeper who came often from England to Rodrigues to assess the situation for bees and beekeeping, that we have started with beekeeping and our Honey Department where we started to train disabled persons and their families in beekeeping. So it is also due to him that we started winning international prizes in the International Honey Show in London....
