CHEROMO....heading to Rodrigues

Just a quick message: please check the weather forecast regularly during the coming days, a (still moderate) tropical storm is heading in our direction, named CHEROMO, still more than 1000 km away from us, with a speed of 20 km.It looks as if in two days Cherono could be here. However, the sea is very rough already today and swells are expected even for the lagoon during high tide!

On Windguru waves increasing up to more than 7 meters until Sunday are predicted with gusts up to 40 knots

So be careful with smaller fishing boats, maybe better put them ashore! Better safe than sorry!

Yesterday afternoon a cyclone warning Class 1 was issued for Rodrigues. CHEROMO, still a moderate tropical storm, is situated at 17.4 ° S and 68.7 ° E , about 570 km in the North-East of Rodrigues. CHEROMO is moving in west-south- westerly direction with 20 km/hr, approaching Rodrigues. As from this afternoon on Rodrigues is expected to have gusts up to 80 km/h by average wind of 35-45 km/hr.
