Tanner, Coco & QuelaHere some pics of Rodrigues Fruit Bats living at the Organization for Bat Conservation (OBC) in Bloomfield/USA. Quela, Coco and Tanner are not related. They each came from different zoos. They had permanent injuries and they were sent to OBC, at different times, as a retirement home.

Quela & CocoQuela was born in captivity at the Lubee Foundation in Florida, USA on April 18, 94. Quela had injuries to her right thumb and wing and is unable to fly. In 2003 Quela was transferred to here to the Organization for Bat Conservation on September 23, 03. Here she was used in educational programs until she was retired in January 2009. Now she gets to just hang out with her friends and she is on display for the public.
Quela & CocoCoco was born in Chicago Illinois USA on October 14, 1997. She had an injury to her left wing and can not fly. She was transferred to the Organization for Bat Conservation on November 6, 08. She has replaced Quela as an educational animal visiting museum and school all over the USA.
