The crew of the sailing yacht Antares Royale (center), arrived on Friday, thought it would be a good idea to go on shore for a little Sunday island excursion....Not a bad idea. The weather was excellent, as was the view...A short stop at St.Gabriel's Cathedral, with 1750 seats the biggest one in the Indian Ocean and constructed between 1936 and 1939...Not only because of All Souls'Day, known here as La Fête des Morts, we went over to the cemetery too where flowers had been piled up around the cross...The longest part of the day we spent at the Reserve Francois Leguat where time goes by quickly when observing the tortoises....So we were even a bit in a hurry to get to Marie-Lynn and Fernand for lunch, who serve Table d'hôte at Montagne Bois Noire which is a quiet place in the green...And very special as the lady of the house is famous for her good taste ...
Lunch was just excellent which you can't see here too well, as there was now the question - the food or the crew ...I decided for the latter, so here you see (l.t.r.) Christian, Queen of the kitchen Mary-Lynn, Ulrich and Barbara plus starter Chicken soup Indian style in the green cups....while Fernand must have been somehow busy....(sorry, next time there will be a photo of you too...)
Thanks to all of you for a very nice day!
