Eines der Lieder, die ich immer liebte, eine wunderbare und sensible Hommage von Don McLean an van Gogh. Heute am 30. März ist der Geburtstag von Vincent van Gogh, dessen ausdrucksstarke Bilder ich ebenfalls immer mochte und die bei mir fast ausnahmslos starke Gefühle auslösten. Schönheit und Trauer. Aus diesem Anlass, dieses zeitlose Lied für einen zeitlosen und sehr besonderen Künstler, der soviel zum Leben zu sagen hatte und der sein Leben bereits im Alter von 37 nahm. -

One of the songs I've always loved, a wonderful and sensitive tribute from Don McLean to van Gogh. Today, March 30th, marks the birthday of Vincent van Gogh, whose expressive paintings I have started to love immediately after seeing the first ones in my life. They all and almost always triggered strong feelings. So much beauty, so much sadness. On this occasion, this timeless song for a timeless and very special artist who had so much to say about life and who took his life at the age of only 37. - 

 Café Terrace at Night is an oil painting (created on 16/17 September 1888), also known as The Cafe Terrace on the Place du Forum, and, when first exhibited in 1891, was entitled Coffeehouse, in the evening (Café, le soir).

 

Der Nachthimmel und die Auswirkungen des Lichts in der Nacht bildeten das Thema für einige der berühmtesten Gemälde von van Gogh, darunter Café Terrace at Night und das Juni1889) Gemälde auf Leinwand aus Saint-Remy, The Starry Night sowie Starry Night Over the Rhône, ebenfalls September 1888, und Road with Cypress and Star, Mai 1890. The night sky and the effects of light at night provided the subject for some of van Gogh's more famous paintings, including Café Terrace at Night and the June, 1889, canvas from Saint-Remy, The Starry Night, as well as Starry Night Over the Rhône, also September 1888, and Road with Cypress and Star, May 1890. He wrote a lot too, mostly letters to his brother Theo who supported him also financially.That is why lots of quotes and aphorisms of van Gogh exist and circulate too. Here a few.

The Starry Night is an oil on canvas painting by Dutch Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. Painted in June 1889, it depicts the view from the east-facing window of his asylum room at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, just before sunrise, with the addition of an imaginary village.

 

Er verglich die Sterne mit Punkten auf einer Karte und überlegte, dass man, wenn man mit dem Zug auf die Erde fährt, "den Tod nehmen, um einen Stern zu erreichen". Obwohl Van Gogh zu diesem Zeitpunkt in seinem Leben von der Religion desillusioniert war, scheint er seinen Glauben an ein Leben nach dem Tod nicht verloren zu haben. Er äußerte diese Ambivalenz in einem Brief an Theo (seinen Bruder), nachdem er die Sternennacht über der Rhône gemalt hatte, und gestand ein "enormes Bedürfnis nach, soll ich das Wort - für Religion - sagen, also gehe ich nachts nach draußen, um die Sterne zu malen. "

 

  Er schrieb über das Bestehen in einer anderen Dimension nach dem Tod und verband diese Dimension mit dem Nachthimmel.  He compared the stars to dots on a map and mused that, as one takes a train to travel on Earth, "we take death to reach a star."Although at this point in his life Van Gogh was disillusioned by religion, he appears not to have lost his belief in an afterlife. He voiced this ambivalence in a letter to Theo (his brother) after having painted Starry Night Over the Rhône, confessing to a "tremendous need for, shall I say the word—for religion—so I go outside at night to paint the stars."

He wrote about existing in another dimension after death and associated this dimension with the night sky. "It would be so simple and would account so much for the terrible things in life, which now amaze and wound us so, if life had yet another hemisphere, invisible it is true, but where one lands when one dies."

 Starry Night Over the Rhône(September 1888), is one of van Gogh'ss paintings of Arles at night. 

It was painted on the bank of the Rhône that was only a one or two-minute walk from the Yellow House on the Place Lamartine, which Van Gogh was renting at the time. 

The night sky and the effects of light at night provided the subject for some of van Gogh's more famous paintings, including Café Terrace at Night (painted earlier the same month) and the June, 1889, canvas from Saint-Remy, The Starry Night.

Covid 19 - POV und die 2.Welle - POV et la 2ième vague à Maurice....Mauritian Humour in Lockdown times

POV steht für Mauritius wohl bekanntestem Karikaturisten, William Ranaivoson, der in der Tageszeitung l'express zumeist täglich veröffentlicht wird, sicherlich nicht nur zu meiner Freude. Ich mag seinen pointierten Blick auf das mauritische Alltagsgeschehen. Nur wenige wissen, dass seine Wurzeln in Madagaskar liegen und dass er erst im September 2006 nach Mauritius gekommen ist um hier mit seiner mauritischen Frau zu leben. Hier also mal, etwas anders als sonst, eine timeline à la POV zu den aktuellen Ereignissen.-

POV stands for Mauritius' most famous cartoonist, William Ranaivoson, who is published in the daily newspaper l'express, certainly not just only to my delight. I like his pointed view of everyday life in Mauritius. Few people know that his roots are in Madagascar and that he came to Mauritius in September 2006 to live with his Mauritian wife. So here, a little different than usual, a timeline à la POV to the current events. -

POV représente le dessinateur certainement le plus célèbre de Maurice, William Ranaivoson, publié   dans le quotidien l'express, certainement pas seulement pour mon plus grand plaisir. J'aime sa vision pointue de la vie quotidienne à Maurice. Peu de gens savent que ses racines se trouvent à Madagascar et qu'il n'est venu à Maurice qu'en septembre 2006 pour vivre avec sa femme mauricienne. Voici donc, un peu différent que d'habitude, une chronologie à la POV de l'actualité.

Die Ankündigung von 3 lokalen Covid 19 Fällen am 05.03.2021 kommt zu einem Zeitpunkt, als die Impfkampagne gegen Covid 19 eigentlich an Fahrt aufnehmen soll. Zuvor war nur ein bedingt großes Interesse der Bevölkerung festzustellen, der Tasache geschuldet, dass es eigentlich bis auf importierte Fälle, die gleich isoliert wurden, kaum Ansteckungsmöglichkeiten gesehen wurden. Negativ getestete Passagiere mussten gleich nach dem Flughafen für 14 Tage in Quarantänehotels.- 

The announcement of 3 local Covid 19 cases on March 5th, 2021 comes at a time when the vaccination campaign against Covid 19 was actually supposed to pick up speed. Previously, there was only a limited level of interest from the population due to the fact that Mauritians felt more or less safe and not concerned as only imported cases were entering and immediately isolated and treated. Negative tested  entering passengers had to be for 14 days in quarantine hotels....-

 L'annonce de 3 cas locaux de Covid 19 le 5 mars 2021 intervient au moment où la campagne de vaccination contre Covid 19 était en fait censée s'accélérer. Auparavant, l'intérêt de la population était plutôt limité, lié au fait qu'il n'y avait -presque- que des cas importés, qui étaient immédiatement isolés, on ne voyait pratiquement aucune possibilité d'infection. Les autres passagers qui ont subi un test négatif à l'arrivée devaient être dans des hôtels de quarantaine pendant 14 jours immédiatement après avoir quitté l'aéroport.

Wie im Jahr zuvor wird eingekauft wie verrückt, Gas wird knapp, und die ersten Händler setzen Preise für bestimmte Lebensmittel hoch, die Regierung reagiert relativ schnell und beginnt diese Praxis zu ahnden. 

Bis zum 09.03.2021 wurden 15 lokale COVID-19 Fälle registriert.-

As in the previous year, people are shopping like gas gets scarce, and the first traders are setting prices for certain foods high, the government reacts relatively quickly and begins to sanction this practice.

  As of March 9, 2021, 15 local cases of COVID-19 were registered.-

 Comme l'année précédente, les gens font leurs courses comme des fous, le gaz devient rare, et les premiers commerçants fixent les prix de certains aliments à un niveau élevé, le gouvernement réagit relativement vite et commence à sanctionner cette pratique.  

Au 9 mars 2021, 15 cas locaux de COVID-19 étaient enregistrés.

Ab 6 Uhr morgens ist Mauritius wieder im Lockdown, geplant bis Mitternacht des 25.03.2021. Diesmal sind Rodrigues und Agalega nicht betroffen, da hier noch keine Fälle registriert wurden. Internationale Flüge sowie Flüge zwischen Mauritius und Rodrigues waren bereits am 06.03.2021 eingestellt worden, lediglich Mauritier, die sich noch in Rodrigues befanden wurden ausgeflogen. Die Maschinen kamen ohne Passagiere von Mauritius an.Für internationale Flüge gibt es keine Beschränkung für Flüge von Mauritius aus. -

 

 Mauritius will be in lockdown again from 6 a.m., planned until midnight on March 25th, 2021. This time Rodrigues and Agalega are not affected as no cases have been recorded here. International flights and flights between Mauritius and Rodrigues had already been suspended on March 6th, 2021, only Mauritians who were still in Rodrigues were flown out. The machines arrived from Mauritius without passengers.As to International flights there is no restriction for outbound travel from Mauritius.-

Les machines sont arrivées de Maurice sans passagers.En ce qui concerne les vols internationaux, il n'y a aucune restriction pour les voyages sortant de Maurice.

For the second time in a row, the celebrations for the Mauritian national holiday, Independence Day, are canceled.-

 

   Pour la deuxième fois consécutive, les célébrations de la fête nationale mauricienne, la Fête de l'Independence, sont annulées.

Die Nachrichten um mögliche Nebenwirkungen des Impfstoffs AstraZeneca gehen auch an Mauritius nicht spurlos vorbei. Da hier Covishield, ebenfalls AstraZeneca, verimpft wird, macht man sich Gedanken und ist besorgt. -

The news about possible side effects of the AstraZeneca vaccine has not gone unnoticed in Mauritius either. Since Covishield, also AstraZeneca, is being vaccinated here, people are worried and have second thoughts.-

Kein Tag ohne Appelle in Bezug auf  Disziplin, Solidarität und die Impfkampagne, die durch den Lockdown neu aufgestellt und organisiert werden muss. In Mauritius wurde die Kampagne zwischen dem 10.03. und dem 14.03. erstmal gestoppt, um Montag, dem 15.März wieder aufgenommen zu werden.-

 

 There is not a day without appeals regarding discipline, solidarity and the vaccination campaign that has to be reorganized due to the lockdown. In Mauritius the campaign was stopped between 10.03. and 14.03. to be resumed Monday, March 15th.-

Die EMA gibt bekannt, dass mit AstraZenica weitergeimpft werden kann, es konnten keine kausalen Zusammenhänge nachgewiesen werden zwischen AZ und den Fällen, die für ein paar Tage die Impfkampagnen in Europa und Teilen der Welt durcheinandergebracht haben....-

Ein neuer Impfstoff wird ab dem 22.03.2021 in Mauritius verimpft, Covaxin, ebenfalls aus Indien, eingetroffen am 19. März.Die ersten 100 000 Impfdosen Covashield sind verimpft, die verbleibenden 100 000 Dosen bleiben im Stock für die 2. Dosis.-

 

A new vaccine will be vaccinated in Mauritius from March 22, 2021, Covaxin, also from India, a first delivery of 100,000 doses arrived on March 19. The first 100,000 doses of Covashield have been vaccinated, the remaining 100,000 doses remain in the stock for the 2nd shot.

Kaum haben wir einen neuen Lockdown in Mauritius, bietet der lokale Fernsehsender MBC Kindern wieder die Möglichkeit, sich zu dem Thema kreativ auszudrücken. Ängste, Gedanken, Vorstellungen und Botschaften fließen in kleine und große Zeichnungen, die vom Sender wie letztes Jahr liebevoll zusammengestellt und musikalisch unterlegt werden, alles zur Hauptsendezeit am Abend im Anschluss an die Tagesnachrichten. 

Auch in anderen Ländern haben Kinder gemalt. Hier aus einem Artikel vom letzten Jahr, den ich zufällig gefunden habe:

Um etwas Farbe in die triste Coronakrise zu bringen, malen viele Kinder bunte Regenbogen. Angefangen hat die Aktion in Italien und Spanien. Unter der Überschrift „Alles wird gut“ malen auch viele kleine BNN-Leser bunte Werke. In der Fotogalerie sind einige der kreativsten Regenbogen zu finden. 

Die Idee, Regenbogen in der Corona-Krise zu malen, fing in Italien und Spanien an. Die fertigen Werke hingen die Kinder ans Fenster, wo sie andere beim Spaziergang zählen konnten. Die Botschaft: Wir bleiben zuhause. Auch in Deutschland teilen mittlerweile viele Eltern in den sozialen Medien die Werke ihrer Kinder unter dem Hashtag #RegenbogenGegenCorona.

Children have painted in other countries too. Here from an article, on this day one year ago, that I found by accident: To bring some color to the dreary corona crisis, many children paint colorful rainbows. 

The campaign started in Italy and Spain. Many small BNN readers paint colorful works under the heading “Everything will be fine”. Some of the most creative rainbows can be found in the photo gallery. The idea of ​​painting rainbows in the Corona crisis started in Italy and Spain. The children hung the finished works on the window, where they could count others while walking. The message: we stay at home. In Germany, too, many parents are now sharing their children's works on social media under the hashtag #RegenbogenGegenCorona.

Dès que nous avons un nouveau confinement à Maurice, la chaîne de télévision locale MBC offre à nouveau aux enfants la possibilité de s'exprimer de manière créative sur le sujet. Les peurs, les pensées, les idées et les messages s'enchaînent en petits et grands dessins, qui, comme l'année dernière, sont amoureusement compilés et accompagnés de musique, le tout aux heures de grande écoute le soir suivant le journal télévisé. 

Les enfants ont peint dans d'autres pays aussi. Voici un article de l'année dernière que j'ai trouvé par hasard : 

Pour apporter de la couleur à la morne crise corona, de nombreux enfants peignent des arcs-en-ciel colorés. La campagne a commencé en Italie et en Espagne. De nombreux petits lecteurs de BNN peignent également des œuvres colorées sous le titre « Tout ira bien ». Certains des arcs-en-ciel les plus créatifs se trouvent dans la galerie de photos.
