Er hatte am 13. Mai Geburtstag, er wurde 11, und auch in dem Alter will man seiner Mutter den Muttertag besonders gestalten. -

In Rodrigues ist Muttertag am letzten Sonntag im Monat Mai. Ein wichtiges Ereignis hier, und natürlich dürfen weder selbtgebastelte Karten noch Gedichte fehlen. Auch Kinder, deren Mutter im letzten Jahr gestorben war, wie von den Geschwistern Jake und Annuirka beteiligen sich, wollen ihrer Mutter ein Zeichen geben, dass sie sie noch nicht vergessen haben und sie lieben. Das hat mich sehr berührt. -
Mother's Day in Rodrigues is celebrated on the last Sunday in May. An important event here, and, as in so many countries, self-made cards and poems belong to it. Annuirka and Jake created cards too, their mother died last year, and they want to show her how much she is still loved and missed. I thought this is a beautiful and touching gesture.
Aber heute ist nicht nur Muttertag, ein weiteres Mai-Kind hat heute Geburtstag.

Dernier vendredi j’ai fait aussi une carte pour ma maman avec un poème. J’ai aussi profité de mes économies pour l’acheté un cadeau. Elle était trѐs contente! C’était une bonne Fête de Mѐres.
Bonne anniversaire à Kelyane et Adrien, même si c’est un peu tard.

When I heard that Mother’s Day was to be on 29th of May, I wanted to make a surprise for my mother too. So, instead of spending money for cake, I bought something nice for her. On Friday before we came to the library, the surprise was not finished, we were asked to cut paper and to look for a poem on the Internet... My cousin Pablito did the same…
On Sunday morning my mum was very happy, she had a gift and a card!
It is now that I have learned about Kelyane’s and Adrien’s birthday, so I want to wish them all the best.
