Sarkozy oder Hollande?...Auch in Mauritius wird gewählt

Heute ist es soweit, im Verlauf des Abends werden wir wissen, wer in der 2.Runde der Präsidentschaftswahlen in Frankreich mit welchem Vorsprung durchs Ziel gekommen ist. Ob Sarkozy in Zukunft mehr Zeit für Carla Bruni und den Nachwuchs  haben wird oder Hollande am Ende doch noch vom Hahn fällt, könnte theoretisch auch in Mauritius entschieden werden. Denn auch hier wird gewählt. Insgesamt leben zwischen 10000-15000 Franzosen in Mauritius, wovon allerdings nur  7074 als wahlberechtigt für die diesjährigen Wahlen registriert sind.

Die Wahlbeteiligung in der 1.Runde war mit 3300 gültigen Stimmen bei einer Wahlbeteiligung von 46% eher dürftig, obwohl es gleich 3 Wahllokale gab. Und wie auch bei den Präsidentschaftswahlen zuvor 2007 war die Tendenz eindeutig, die Mehrheit wählte rechts. Sarkozy erhielt 1656 Stimmen, Hollande 838.In Réunion sah dies ganz anders aus, da half Sarkozy auch sein Besuch vor ein paar Wochen nicht, ganze 53,29% der Stimmen entfielen dort auf Hollande, während Sarkozy gerade mal 17,96% schaffte. -

Auch Franzosen in Rodrigues sind aufgerufen, zur Wahl zu gehen. 30 Familien leben hier mit ca. 60 Wahlberechtigten. Da es hier kein Wahllokal gibt, kam vor ein paar Wochen ein Mitglied der frz. Botschaft um sich von denjenigen, die nicht selbst nach Mauritius fahren um ihre Stimme abzugeben, eine Prokuration geben zu lassen, die Botschaftsangehörige in Mauritius berechtigt, für sie ihre Stimme abzugeben.Jeder frz.Botschaftsangehörige kann dies für 3 andere frz. Wahlberechtigte tun.-

Also French expatriates in Rodrigues are called to go to the polls. 30 families live here with about 60 voters. Since there is no polling station here, a few weeks ago a member of the French Embassy came to get of those who do not vote in Mauritius themselves a signed document, entitling the embassy staff in Mauritius to vote for them.Each French embassy staff member can do this for 3 other voters.
